We have been hearing about pollution for years now. Light pollution is relatively new. Plenty of Green Valley homes are having "dark sky" lamps put in, created to decrease the amount of light pollution. These dark sky lamps project much of their radiance downward, reducing the amount of light shed into the nighttime sky.
Anti-light pollution regulations have been enacted in hundreds of cities and subdivisions and a lot of cities have even been declared International Dark Sky Cities. It could be that your next step for home design, is putting in dark sky lights for your Green Valley home . More ...

A drop in home construction was announced by Toll Brothers, the predominant company in luxury homebuilders. Shares decreased, from $1.27 to $1.07 per share. Top administrators claim the drop is because of homebuilders who have built too much and speculative buyers who are now sellers.
Toll Brother's is "well prepared" to manage this type of situation. There are still a lot of great Green Valley homes out there, so there's no need to worry. More ...

Has it always been a dream to remodel an old Green Valley home ? Make sure you take a good look at the "bones" of a property before you buy that potential jewel.
Fixing shingles isn't so bad. It's a totally different, and more expensive story, to fix the entire roof structure. Similarly, fixing a leaking basement is easy. Putting in a brand new foundation is going to be a massive project. Replacing pipes, wiring, and toxic building materials should also be factored in.
Thoroughly evaluate the entire home and move ahead only if you truly feel that your checkbook, and more importantly, your sanity, can handle the project. More ...

Across the nation, a lot of buildings are literally going green. Green roofs are being set up in Chicago, and maybe one day in Green Valley. These are not roofs built from solar panels or environmentally friendly materials. From jasmine to basil, here you can plant everything.
Potted plants have garnished rooftops for ages but this new type of roofing allows for plants to physically root and comes equipped with an one-of-a-kind drainage system. Green roofing allows for several benefits. Most importantly, cooling needs are reduced by nearly 25 percent, diminishing the greenhouse effect. The heat from concrete and blacktop is absorbed considerably by plants.
A flat, black roof is not as tasteful than a rooftop conservatory. Whether you plant grass, flowers, or brush, you can have a spot to stop and smell the roses. As of now, green roofing will only be found in the big city, however, keep an eye out for Green Valley homes going green. More ...

A lot of areas are turning to the past for urban design. Ancient cities were designed with a system of roads, public and private buildings, a theater, and an amphitheater, in a rectangular block.
A lot of design elements are timeless and should not be forgotten. This must be remembered by developers and those involved in Green Valley real estate . The leading concern for newer developments is environmental issues. Much like the earlier developments, newer developers are building around forests, drainage corridors, and mountain ranges, instead of removing them.
Agendas also involve easy "walkability," which means eighty-percent of development will be within five minutes of 80 percent of all activities. Perhaps the most significant connection to ancient societies is the fact that improvement relies less on the home and a good deal more on the community. More ...

The white picket fences enclosing numerous Green Valley homes are getting a new twist. A gated fence increases privacy along with security. A remote controlled gate can be installed at the end of a driveway or added onto an existing wall or fence. A computer program, hand-held gaget, or even a BlackBerry or Treo will be able to trigger the gate.
These models don't come cheap. A Do-it-yourself model can be purchased for roughly $1,200 and a professional, more elaborate system can run anywhere from $18,000 to 130,000. Some feel that these gates are evidence of the jump in fear and paranoia in Americans. Many others believe that they are merely the easiest form of privacy. Either way, those selling fences claim that business is booming. More ...

There are a lot of things you can do in your Green Valley home to lower the electricity bill. For example, you can switch to compact fluorescent bulbs in lamps that are on for longer than two hours a day. Lasting 10-20 times longer than regular bulbs, flourescent bulbs are 6-8 times more energy efficient.
When they aren't in use, unplug devices like stereos or toster ovens. Even if they are not on, they still use up some juice. Use an energy efficient microwave or toaster over when cooking smaller items that do not need to be pre-heated.
Shut your computer off or to "standby" mode when you are finished. You will reduce the cost of running a computer by 85 percent simply by using a laptop rather than a desktop. Set your refrigerator to 38-40 degrees Fahrenheit and don't open the door often or for long amounts of time.
Finally, wash your clothes in cold water, just use the dryer for full loads, and if possible, line dry. By beginning with these few steps, you will be able to save money on your bills and lower your Co2 emissions. More ...

In the Green Valley condo market, buyers are experiencing a bit of competition. There are several things you can do to put your condo above the others and guarantee a quicker sale. Above all, the price must be right. Price your condo off the local market and nearby neighborhood. More brokers mean more exposure so invite many brokers over for an open house.
For each would-be buyer, create an individual "resource list." Empty nesters might be interested in fine dining or theaters while families are searching for local schools or day-care centers. Make the kitchen and bathroom a point of focus. You will see big payoffs when you put money towards advancements here. Rewards, such as a plasma TV or grocery store gift card, are a great way to bring in buyers. More ...
